Let’s shift the system from treatment of disease to early detection. For every woman.
My journey into women’s health advocacy didn’t begin in a lab or a boardroom. It began with personal loss.
My mother, a vibrant and health-conscious woman, died of late-stage breast cancer. She did everything right. She had her annual mammograms. She trusted the system. But what we didn’t know then (and what I now work every day to change) is that mammograms alone aren’t enough, especially for women with high risk factors and dense breast tissue. Her cancer went undetected until it was too late.
A year and a half after her passing, I found a lump in my own breast. I was just 24. In the midst of undergoing preventive surgery to reduce my inherited risk, I, too, was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was young and devastated. And I was determined that our stories would not be repeated.

Kaitlin Christine – Founder and CEO of Gabbi
These experiences highlighted the gaps in our healthcare system, particularly in early detection and personalized care. Determined to make a difference, I founded Gabbi, a digital health platform aimed at eradicating late-stage breast cancer through early detection and personalized risk assessment.
Gabbi uses machine learning to predict a woman’s risk of breast cancer using claims, medical data, and user-reported information.
Within our digital experience, women are guided through a tailored experience. Based on her risk level, each woman receives a personalized care plan, whether that means starting screenings earlier, getting additional imaging like a breast MRI, or seeking genetic counseling. Most importantly, we’re committed to fast-tracking care. Women flagged as high-risk can move toward early detection in under seven days. That’s not just innovation. That’s impact.
Our mission is to empower women to understand their bodies and advocate for themselves. We believe that by providing accessible, personalized information, we can decrease delayed diagnoses and improve outcomes.
Collaboration is essential to our success. The direct investment from Catalyst by Wellstar allows us to integrate our technology into existing healthcare systems, such as our current pilot at Wellstar at both our Vinings and Austell locations.
Recently, we flagged a patient with a high risk for breast cancer. She’s now on a proactive care path, including genetic testing and an MRI, early actions that can truly save lives.
When a health system like Wellstar invests in innovation, it changes what’s possible. Together, we are demonstrating a new model: one where technology, clinical expertise, and patient empowerment work hand-in-hand to deliver better outcomes.
Women deserve more than reactive care. They deserve a system that sees them, hears them, and responds to their individual needs. Through Gabbi, through Catalyst, and through every woman who chooses to advocate for her own health, we are building that system.
Together, we can make late-stage breast cancer a thing of the past.
