During yesterday’s Goodie Nation’s Intentionally Good Summit, taking place concurrently at Venture Atlanta, Wellstar – one of Georgia’s largest and most integrated health systems – announced a pilot project with Transition, a startup that helps aspiring healthcare professionals find their best career path.
Transition is a Goodie Nation portfolio company that will be working with the Wellstar talent acquisition team to recruit Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to our system in the fall of 2023.
Wellstar will offer tuition reimbursement incentives for CNAs and CMAs on the Transition platform. Already established Transition partners, Chattahoochee Tech, Cumberland Medical Institute and Kennesaw State University will promote these roles and opportunities together with Wellstar. Candidates will receive tuition reimbursement and employment with Wellstar upon completing their program.
“At Wellstar, we don’t just hire for a job; we hire for a career,” said Mark Rowe, Vice President of Talent Acquisition at Wellstar. “We’re very excited about our partnership with Transition, as we believe this innovative platform will take our workforce development initiatives to the next level, helping us in building our talent pipelines for some of our critical need areas.”
The need for more CNAs and CMAs is urgent, with 216 current openings for these roles at Wellstar.
Transition has shown remarkable results with other health systems. Early adopters increased their volume of qualified leads by 300 percent and made informed hiring decisions two times faster.
At Wellstar, we’ll measure the volume of candidates in our talent pipeline and rate of increase, the average time to hire and the average cost to hire against our current benchmarks.
Transition’s CEO and Founder, Kayla Wright-Jackson, is a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree and participated in Venture Atlanta as a Seed Showcase company in 2022. She is also a recipient of the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund and a Goodie Nation portfolio.
Kayla also participated in the 2023 Catalyst Future of Work Think Tank as a speaker. Her firsthand experience as a healthcare recruiter allowed her to see the problem the industry is facing, which inspired her to create Transition to address it.
