Catalyst joins roundtable with First Lady Jill Biden

Quote

We are going to build a future where women, all women, aren’t just an afterthought,
but a first thought.

First Lady Jill Biden

Catalyst helped raise the dialogue of women’s health issues to the highest levels by participating in this week’s Women’s Health Roundtable hosted by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. Stefanie Diaz, Industry and Venture Lead at Catalyst by Wellstar, shared her perspective and passion for women’s health issues and how Catalyst is driving innovation and investment in promising startups — many of which are women-led — that have the potential to shape the future of healthcare.

“At its core, women’s research is driven by the belief that women deserve to be seen, their voices heard, and their unique needs honored,” Stefanie said.

Encouraging female entrepreneurs to launch solutions to the challenges women face is critical to accelerating research and improving lives. Women investors are also key as they are likely to fund women-led companies, thereby fueling the ecosystem of researchers, founders, investors, and enterprise, and driving real change. The roundtable discussion pointed to the ways Atlanta ecosystem is well poised to create positive impact in this space.

A special thanks to Maria D. Toler, Founding & Managing Partner, SteelSky Ventures, for her leadership in coordinating today’s roundtable and her tireless efforts to advance women’s health initiatives and startups.
